  Welcome Aboard

    I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all military retirees and their families to the  updated Navy's 'Retired Activities Office Website'.  This website is specifically intended for the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard Retired personnel in San Antonio and the surrounding areas.  Our physical location is in the Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) formally known as the the Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Training Center.  Our volunteer watch standers normally 'man the Watch' Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (except Federal holidays), 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to assist you in whatever way we can.  Our basic marching orders are detailed in SECNAVINST 5420.169 series to wit..."Retired Activities Offices and Retired Liaison Offices serve as links between local retirees and the military community as well as other governmental agencies that provide assistance to retirees and their families".  We are taking the initiative with this site to include our Coast Guard shipmates and their families...we are all 'sea service' personnel.  In fact, we will attempt to assist any retired military or government person if possible!  This assistance shall consist of services such as but not limited to;

  • information and assistance for general retired benefits (ex; ID card renewal, TRICARE, vehicle decals),

  • Safe Harbor Program,

  • Survivor Benefits Program (SBP) and updates (ex; Joe Sal, Forgotten Widows, VA),

  • Death Notice processing and notification assistance,

  • Survivor Benefit requests and paper filings,

  • Retired Activities information (such as the annual Retiree Seminar),

  • agency phone numbers (ex; DEFAS, TRICARE, Medical facilities),

  • local assistance group's phone numbers (ex; AARP, FRA, TROA, etc),

  • any other request we might be able to help you with (ex; Navy Lodge #s, Space A., etc).

    This website is organized accordingly:

    Our commitment to our shipmates and their families is best summed up by our Service Creed.  Everyone is encouraged to review this statement at your leisure because it is the measure by which we wish to be evaluated.

   For your convenience, we have listed various links to your left for information purposes.  Check them out at your leisure specifically the Navy's new 'Safe Harbor' Program.

    Your comments are encouraged in order to make this virtual means of communication a useful tool for all of our shipmates.  You may want to call, E-mail or drop by.  No matter which avenue of communication you chose, here are some ways to do each:
